Types of Fat [Video]

Fat Transfer, Liposuction

Hi, this is Dr. Adams from Premier Liposuction.

What are the different types of fat?

There are three main types of fat: white fat, brown fat, and finally, beige fat or bright fat.

The first kind is white fat. This fat you’ll find all over the body. You’ll find it in your belly, in your arms and your thighs-pretty much everywhere. The function of this fat is to store energy for when your body needs it later.

As with almost anything, it’s good to have a certain amount of this fat. But too much can be harmful to your body.

The second kind of fat is brown fat. Now this fat, while it is present in adults, is more common in children and infants. And the function of this fat is to burn fatty acids and generate heat.

Finally, the third kind of fat is called beige fat or bright fat. And this is kind of in between the white and the brown, hence the term beige.

The function of this fat, while still under research, seems to be more to help storing and releasing enzymes and hormones that help in general body functions.

What are the different layers of fat?

Now, all of these fats are generally stored in two layers of the body, the subcutaneous and the visceral. The subcutaneous is the area just below the skin. And that’s what we call the pinchable fat. That’s the area we’re going to be attacking during liposuction. It’s a combination of white, brown, and beige fat. But, you won’t know that during the procedure.

The other layer of fat is called visceral fat. This fat’s deeper down and generally surrounds the organs such as your liver, your kidneys, and your heart.

As I was saying with the white fat, it’s good to have a certain amount of this fat in this layer. But, too much can be harmful, especially too much visceral fat can be harmful. It can lead to risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, artery disease or kidney disease.

So that’s a quick rundown of different types of fat and different layers of fat. Thanks for tuning in and I’ll catch you later.

What Is a Fat Transfer? [Video]

Fat Transfer, Liposuction

What Is a Fat Transfer?

Hi, this is Dr. Adams from Premier Liposuction. What is a fat transfer? In its most basic form, a fat transfer is taking fat from one area of the body and introducing it to another area of the body. The most common areas we do fat transfers are the breasts and buttocks.

We also do fat transfers to the hands, face, and essentially any area that needs a little bit more volume.

Now, fat transfer to the buttocks, commonly referred to as a BBL, is all the craze in the media. It generally requires about 800 CCs to 1000 CCs of good quality fat to achieve optimal results. The procedure itself is very simple and straightforward.

After we aspirate the fat, we collect it in a special container that helps separate the good quality fat from the stuff we don’t need. Then, we use a special fat transfer gun and a cannula and we introduce it into the affected areas.

The procedure itself is quick, painless, and efficient. We here at Premier Liposuction think the fat transfers are a great natural solution to a very common problem. Thanks for tuning in. And I’ll catch you soon!

Tired of Wearing Long Sleeves? How to Get Rid of Arm Flab for Good

Fat Transfer

Are you trying to get rid of arm flab? You are not alone. According to the CDC, approximately 66.7% of adults in the US have a hard time losing their extra body fat. Now with COVID-19 and gym restrictions, it’s even harder to lose those extra pounds and get rid of arm flab.

Everyone’s body has stubborn pockets of fat distribution. No matter how lean you get, there will always be a stubborn area where the fat will just not go away.

Are you trying to get rid of arm flab and having a difficult time doing so? Read on to learn how to get rid of arm flab once and for all.

Fat Transfer Surgery

Fat transfer surgery enables you to transfer all the stubborn areas of fat that grow in the wrong places to the areas that you need a bit more volume. This ultimately improves the appearance of your physique and helps you to reach your body goals.

This surgical process is also known as fat grafting. Your surgeon will surgically remove fat from one area of your body (such as your arm), process it, and then inject it back into your desired area of focus. The results are seamless and completely natural, and according to testimonials, our customers have never been happier.

Aside from your arms, the most popular areas for fat grafting are:

  • Abdomen
  • Stomach
  • Waist
  • Thighs
  • Hips
  • Lower back
  • Breasts

The most common areas for redistribution are the breasts and buttocks. Since this is a surgical operation, the recovery time is approximately one month. Afterward, you’ll be ready to show off your new and improved physique.

Vaser Liposuction

Some areas of the body are difficult to improve no matter how much you exercise and eat right. This can feel quite defeating when you feel that you have done everything possible.

Thankfully, Vaser liposuction can help you get rid of pesky fatty areas once and for all.

Vaser liposuction is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses specialized ultrasound technology to send out sound waves at a specific frequency that break down stubborn fat cells.

This procedure is much less forceful than traditional or tumescent liposuction. Patients experience less pain and a shorter recovery time.

Vaser liposuction is perfect for those who have been on a weight loss journey but still have stubborn arm flab and abdominal fat. After the procedure, you will finally be able to see the results of your hard work with diet and exercise.

Body Sculpting and Contouring

If you’ve worked hard in the gym and eaten all the right foods but still can’t drop those last 10 stubborn pounds, body sculpting can help.

Body sculpting tightens up unwanted pockets of fat and helps you achieve the toned body you’ve worked hard for.

This procedure is perfect for athletic people already healthy and close to their fitness goals, aside from annoying areas of fat on their abdomen, waist, or arms.

Commit Yourself To A Fitness Routine

Following the proper routine after your procedure will help you recover quicker, lose arm flab, raise your confidence, and help you live a healthier life. Nothing will ever replace exercise and a healthy diet as the best way to lose unwanted weight. Our procedures help put you in a position for success and get you to a place you’re happy with, but you should still plan on putting in the work needed to maintain your results.

Here are some things you can do to tone your arms and keep off the unwanted weight and arm flab after your procedure.

Lift Weights

Muscle is denser than fat, has a higher metabolic rate, and helps you to achieve that overall “toned” look you are searching for. This means that you must do more than cardio. You should start lifting weights as well.

Some exercises to get rid of arm flab include:

  • Triceps dips
  • Overhead extensions
  • Triceps kickbacks
  • Triceps or triangle (narrow) pushups
  • Boxing
  • Rowing machine

According to research from the Korean Diabetes Journal, the more resistance training you do, the more fat you will burn.

Eat a Proper Diet

You could have every procedure possible and exercise all the time, but without a healthy diet, you will never see the fat-loss results you desire.

Think of food as fuel for your body, just like gas is for a vehicle. If you put horrible fuel into your car, it will eventually break down. The same principle applies to your body.

If you fuel your body with the right macro and micronutrients, you will begin to see the weight-loss results you desire.

This includes:

  • Lean sources of protein to keep up the muscle mass
  • Nourishing your body with a wide range of phytonutrients from different vegetables
  • Increasing your fiber intake
  • Consuming complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, quinoa, and oats.
  • Getting enough healthy fats in your diet from avocados, olive oil, nuts, fatty fish, and coconut oil.

Not only will you notice more fat-loss, but you will also notice a boost in your overall health including more energy, mental clarity, and a stronger immune system.

Liposuction for Weight Loss is a Myth: But Here Are the Benefits

Fat Transfer, Liposuction, Weight Loss

Getting liposuction for weight loss is one of the most common reasons people seek it out. Liposuction for weight loss is a myth but here are five major reasons to get lipo.

After dressing to impress, you look in the mirror for a final assessment. You love your hair, your makeup, and your dress. But your stomach is an eyesore to you, and you wish you could do something about it.

Fortunately, liposuction for weight loss may be all you need to achieve the stomach you want. In fact, nearly 260,000 people throughout the United States opted for liposuction in 2018 to accomplish their aesthetic aims that.

Before Considering Liposuction for Weight Loss

  • Liposuction is an aesthetic procedure, targeting hard-to-get-rid-of areas and serving as a route to define or shape your body the way you want it.
  • Liposuction is not typically considered an overall weight-loss method or a weight loss alternative.
  • By law, cosmetic surgeons are only allowed to remove 5.5 liters of fat. If your doctor says otherwise, we strongly suggest you seek a second opinion.
  • If you are overweight, you’re likely to lose more weight through exercise and diet or through bariatric procedures like gastric bypass surgery.

Still not sure if liposuction is for you? Here are five major reasons to get lipo.

Let’s jump in!

1. Increase Your Confidence

One of the biggest reasons to get liposuction is to boost your self-confidence.

You may be dealing with stubborn fat pockets, even after already losing a significant amount of weight. This can no doubt be embarrassing. In fact, you may even feel that all of the effort you put into losing your weight was in vain.

Fortunately, with liposuction, you can finally feel sexy, attractive, and confident. In fact, you may also experience more energy following your surgery.

In addition, once you undergo liposuction, other people can see your body’s natural beauty. They’ll also see that you have indeed made some responsible and praiseworthy lifestyle choices.

After undergoing liposuction, you’ll likely be able to tell a huge difference in how your clothing fits. Both you and other people will no longer see the aggravating bulges you have had to put up with for years.

In addition, you may notice a loss in inches. This means you’ll have many more options while shopping for swimsuits and other clothes. You’ll be proud to show off the new shape of your body.

All in all, lipo is an effective and safe procedure for achieving your unique body image objectives. It’s better than diet fads that may end up wreaking havoc on your body.

2. Enhance Your Health

Another reason to choose liposuction is that it can decrease the fat cells, or triglycerides, in your blood.

Your body produces these cells naturally. However, having too many of these cells can increase your heart disease risk. So, by removing these cells through liposuction, you immediately increase your heart health.

Note, though, that after lipo removes your fat cells in an area, new fat cells may return to that area. For this reason, it is critical that you continue to exercise and eat a proper diet following your procedure.

The reality is, your body becomes accustomed to your normal routine each day. For instance, it becomes used to sitting behind a computer screen at work, or lounging on the couch at night.

However, by keeping your body in a constant state of activity following your lipo treatment, you can keep new fat cells from forming. And as a result, you can maintain the healthy body you want long term.

3. Get Rid of Trouble Spots Quickly

Liposuction won’t remove fat from all parts of the body. However, it can come in handy for treating specific parts of your body.

What’s great about lipo is that it can easily target stubborn fat in your stomach, back, upper arms, and thighs. You can also use liposuction to treat the area beneath your chin.

In today’s hectic world, you may find it difficult to achieve your dream look in a section of your body right away. After all, even if a person eats right and works out in the gym each day, it may take them years to achieve their weight goals.

However, lipo can instantly deliver to you the results you want.

What makes liposuction stand out is that recovering from this procedure is relatively simple. As a result, it is not only quick but also safe. Recovering from lipo treatment in a large area may take about two weeks, whereas it may take just a handful of days for a small area.

4. Stimulate Collagen Growth

The latest laser-based lipo techniques also have the potential to stimulate collagen growth in your body.

The benefit of collagen, a protein, is that it keeps your skin wrinkle-free and firm. Your body naturally generates this protein, but as you get older, the production of collagen starts to slow down. As a result, you develop sagging skin and wrinkles.

However, laser-based liposuction enables you to enjoy more youthful-looking skin, along with a younger-looking body.

5. Give Your Body a New Shape

Yet another reason to choose liposuction is that it helps with reshaping your body. Not only can you have fat removed, but you can also have your fat transferred to another area of the body. The most common transfers are those to the buttocks or breasts, serving as a more natural solution than foreign implants.

Let’s say your body is at its ideal weight. You still might not be happy with your body’s figure. For example, you might be carrying too much weight in the hips or upper arms.

Since you’re already at the ideal weight for your body, there’s no way you can eliminate this fat yourself. However, liposuction lets you achieve a body that is more proportionate without weight loss or an unhealthy diet.
